SOPHIA LACY AKERS

Sophia Lacy Akers is the daughter of Erika and Time Akers. Sophia is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending Truman State University in the fall to study Psychology or Engineering. When looking back on her high school years, she is proud of all the work she put into getting into the college of her dreams, as well as all the friends she made along the way. Sophia will miss seeing these people who she grew up with. Sophia encourages the Class of 2021 to get involved in as much as they can because they won't regret it. Congratulations, Sophia!

TREY PRESTON COLONEY

Trey Preston Coloney is the son of Coresa and and Jon Coloney. Trey is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri where he will major in Criminal Justice/Criminology and minor in Forensics and Theatre. He also plans on being involved in theatre at UCM. During his time at HHS, Trey was involved in theatre and was a member of the International Thespian Society, and he plans on coming back to Columbia during the summer to teach at TRYPS. When looking back on his time in high school, Trey will miss his friends who will be moving far away, and he encourages the Class of 2021 to not take life for granted because life will flip them like a pancake. Congratulations, Trey!

SAMANTHA DODD

Samantha Dodd is the daughter of Nolanda Dodd. Sami is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending the University of Memphis to study Pre-Law through the Honors College. During her time at HHS, Sami was involved in softball, volleyball, cheer, HOSA, Key Club, and NHS. Looking back on her high school years, Sami will miss the teachers she was cloest to, and she is proud that she was able to make it through her senior year after being diagnosed with a chronic illness. Sami continued to push herself to achieve high grades and to be the best she she could be both in school and for her friends, and she never gave up on her dreams. Sami wants the Class of 2021 to know that hoping for something and losing it hurts more than never hoping for anything. She wants future seniors to understand it's okay to expect the worst and be happily surprised when things go well. Congratulations, Sami!

KATHLEEN FENDER

Kathleen Fender is the daughter of Karen and Chris Fender. Katie is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending the University of Missouri-Columbia in the fall to study Nursing. Once she obtains her BSN, she hopes to go to Africa with the Peace Corps for a few years. During her time at HHS, Katie was a member of the Speech & Debate and the varsity swim team, where she went to state all four years. Although she spent 20 hours swimming every week, Katie managed to complete all of her required class credits, including honors credits, by the end of her junior year. When looking back on her high school years, she will miss football games and all of her friends the most, and she encourages future classes to work hard for their credits early on so they don't have to take hard classes senior year. Congratulations, Katie!

GRACE HUENEFELDT

Grace Huenefeldt is the daughter of Karen Duncan, Chuck Huenefeldt, Monika Huenefeldt and Matt Duncan. Grace is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending the University of Missouri-Columbia in the fall to study Nursing. During her time at HHS, Grace's favorite activity was playing volleyball, and she will miss attending football and baseball games, along with her best friends, the most. Grace encourages the Class of 2021 to live it up, don't skip athletic events, and say "yes," because it goes by so fast. Congratulations, Grace!

SPENCER JOHNSON

Spencer Johnson is the son of Leah and Bryan Johnson. Spencer is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending Missouri State University in the fall to study Athletic Training. During his time at HHS, Spencer's favorite activities were playing soccer and Friday Night Lights, and he is proud of his dedication throughout high school. Spencer encourages the Class of 2021 to not catch the coronavirus. Congratulations, Spencer!

EMILY KING

Emily King is the daughter of Christine and Alan King. Emily is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending McKendree University in the fall to play softball. Emily is currently undecided about her major, but she is thinking Sports Marketing or Management. During her time at HHS, Emily played softball and was a member of Giving Girls Opportunities and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She will miss all of the memories she made with her teammates. Emily worked hard in school and ended her high school career with a 3.98 GPA, and she is proud of have earned Academic All-State all four years, Academic All-District all four years, and second team All-Region two years for softball. She encourages the Class of 2021 to slow the year down and take things day by day. She urges future seniors to enjoy being with teachers and friends while they can because senior year goes by fast. Congratulations, Emily!

RILEY KLIETHERMES

Riley Kliethermes is the son of Ellen and Danny Kliethermes. Riley is graduating from Hickman High School and will be continuing both his academic and athletic journeys at Hannibal-LaGrange University where he will be majoring in Psychology while running Cross Country and Track. During his time at HHS, Riley's favorite activities were Cross Country and Track, and he received a varsity letter in Cross Country. Looking back on his high school years, Riley will miss seeing all the people he has grown up with, including his athletic teams that become a second family to him. Riley is proud of the connections he has made with teachers and classmates, and he wants the community to know he appreciates everything that has happened to him and where it has lead him. Riley encourages the Class of 2021 to not look back and worry about the mistakes they've made, but to look to the future at the achievements they will make. Congratulations, Riley!

MARISSA KAYLIN KRAUS

Marissa Kaylin Kraus is the daughter of Penny Adams and Kent Kraus. Marissa is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to study Journalism with an emphasis in Photojournalism through the Honors College, and she will also be running Cross Country for UNL. During her time at HHS, Marissa ran varsity Cross Country and Track, and was on the track relay team that set the school record in the 4x1600 her freshman year at the KU relays. She was also on the team that broke the record again her junior year. Additionally, Marissa served as President of the Kewpie Athletic Council, Editor of the Hickman Review, Historian for Student Government, and President of Future Business Leaders of America. When looking back on her high school years, Marissa is proud that she has excelled in her academics while also participating in three sports a year and being involved in multiple extracurricular activities. As a leader in multiple activities, she is proud of the example she set for future students. The friendships and relationships she made with teachers, friends, teammates, and community members is what she will miss the most about high school. Marissa will always cherish the people who make up HHS’ one big family, and she encourages the Class of 2021 to do the same. She urges future seniors to stay motivated when times get tough. She says to trust the process and remember that whatever is happening will end, and to stay focused on goals and stay positive. Congratulations, Marissa!

JONAH LARSEN

Jonah Larsen is the son of Kristi and Soren Larsen. Jonah is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the fall to double major in Music Composition and Jazz Studies. During his time at HHS, Jonah was involved in pit orchestra, jazz band, wind ensemble, marching band, all-district band, all-district jazz band, and was a three-year member of the Missouri All-State Band. Jonah also served as Drum Major of the HHS Marching Band for two years and played with Broadway Blues at Roots and Blues. When looking back on his high school years, Jonah is proud of how he has become more comfortable in social situations, and hanging out with friends in the parking lot after football games is one of the things he will miss most about high school. He will also miss all of the other students and teachers he has grown close with over the years. Jonah encourages the Class of 2021 to enjoy their senior year because they’ll never know how much time they have left. Congratulations, Jonah!

CAMILLE LEASE

Camille Lease is the daugher of Joelle Quoirin and Kevin Lease. Camille is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she will be majoring in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and possibly pursue a minor in either French or Spanish. She has committed to swim at UNO. During her time at HHS, Camille was involved in Trireme, National Spanish Honor Society, and the varsity swim team, where she placed at MSHSAA state all four years and was a member of the school-record-breaking 200 free relay. Looking back on her high school years, Camille will miss seeing her friends every day and spending time with her favorite teachers, including Mr. Rodeman and Mr. Kirkpatrick, in the mornings. She is proud of the effort she put into her schoolwork and into meeting new people, as well as her dedication to her sport. Camille encourages the Class of 2021 to pause and appreciate each moment because it all goes by so quickly. Congratulations, Camille!

ZACH MARIOTT

Zach Mariott is the son of JP and Carissa Mariott. Zach is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending Moberly Area Community College through the A+ program in the fall where he will be studying Architecture, and then transferring to Mizzou. During his time at HHS, Zach was a member of Ping Pong club all four years, and he is going to miss his underclassmen friends the most. Zach encourages the Class of 2021 to never take anything for granted. Congratulations, Zach!

EMMA MATTESON

Emma Leigh Matteson is the daughter of Michelle Matteson-Kome, Paul Matteson, and James Kome. Emma is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri to play volleyball and study Elementary Education. During her time at HHS, Emma was involved in Volleyball, Kewps United, and National Honor Society, and she additionally served as Vice President of Trireme and a leader of FCA. Looking back on her high school years, Emma will miss the bus rides to away volleyball games and tournaments as well as Hickman football games, and she is most proud of winning Sectionals for volleyball. She encourages the Class of 2021 to enjoy every second of high school because one day, they will miss it. Congratulations, Emma!

ALLISON MARIE MAYFIELD

Allison Marie Mayfield is the daughter of Brian and Stephanie Mayfield. Allison is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending Central Methodist University in the fall where she will major in Exercise Science and pursue a Master's in Athletic Training. During her time at HHS, Allison sang in the choir for all four years, and she made it to state for vocal solo and earned a silver rating her junior year. Additionally, Allison has trained in Brazilian Jui Jitsu (BJJ) since eighth grade, which gave her the background that led her to join the HHS girls' wrestling team her senior year. When looking back on her time in high school, Allison will miss her choir director, Robin Steinhous, who guided her to be the singer she always wanted to be. She will also miss the goodbyes she never got to say, the prom she had been planning for five months in advance, the graduation she's worked 12 years for, all the things she could have done with her last few months of high school, her lasts days as a senior she never got to enjoy, and everything else about HHS. Allison encourages the Class of 2021 to not take one day for granted because they never know what life will throw at them. Congratulations, Allison!

LAUREN NICOLE MCDANIEL

Lauren Nicole McDaniel is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending the Univesity of Missouri-Columbia in the fall to study Nursing. During her time at HHS, Lauren cheered for the Kewpies and will try out for the cheerleading squad at Mizzou. Lauren encourages the Class of 2021 to cherish every moment they have because they never know when it could be taken away. Congratulations, Lauren!

HALEY MEISTER

Haley Meister is the daughter of William and Hanh Meister. Haley is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending the University of Missouri-Columbia in the fall to study Biological Sciences. During her time at HHS, Haley was involved in soccer and Darkroom Records. When looking back on her high school years, Haley is most proud of how she raised over $1,000 for the Boys and Girls Club as a Homecoming Queen candidate and won Districts for soccer in 2019, and she will miss her soccer team, dances, and school-orchestrated events the most. Haley encourages the Class of 2021 to get involved and do clubs, and she wants the community to know that plans are NOT permanent. She would have never expected she would be pursuing new things if she never tried, and she hopes to gain more knowledge and impact the community in a beneficial way. Congratulations, Haley!

AUGUSTA NICKOLAUS

Augusta Nickolaus is the daughter of Christy and Daniel Nickolaus. Augusta is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri in the fall. During her time at HHS, Augusta played basketball and track and was also a member of National Honor Society. Augusta is proud of the hard work she put into being a student-athlete, and she will miss the friends she made, her teachers, and her coaches the most. She encourages the Class of 2021 to enjoy it while they can. Congratulations, Augusta!

LAUREN PECK

Lauren Peck is the daughter of Dawn and Ben Peck. Lauren is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending the University of Missouri-Columbia in the fall to study Nursing. Once she obtains her BSN, Lauren plans to work as an ER nurse for a few years and then go back to school to become a Physician Assistant. During her time at HHS, Lauren was a varsity swimmer all four years, and she was able to complete all of her required credits by her junior year. Additionally, Lauren is proud of how much she has grown over the years, as well as how she attended every single football game (even the away games) through her sophomore-senior years to support her friends who played on the team. Lauren encourages the Class of 2021 to enjoy every single moment of their year because every experience is so important. Congratulations, Lauren!

FELIX PIPPENGER

Felix Pippenger is the son of Camille and Terry Pippenger II. Felix is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending Missouri Baptist University in the fall to study Business and play football. During his time at HHS, Felix played football, and he is proud of all the fun he had, as well as the times he got 100% on tests. Felix with miss the people the most about high school. He encourages the Class of 2021 to not let the pandemic ruin their fun. Congratulations, Felix!

ZOE POTTER

Zoe Potter is the child of Rita Maloney. Zoe is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri in the fall to study either Engineering, Meteorology, or Astronomy. Zoe also wants to partake in golf in the near future and may transfer to the University of Nevada in Las Vegas after two years at UCM. During their time at HHS, Zoe was involved in Kewpie Stage Players, Golf, Orchestra, and French, and is proud to have placed first in Districts Readers Theatre for Acting 2 and fourth in their room at State as a junior, had a first place golfing season with the Kewpie Golfers their senior year, and achieved perfect attendance their freshman year. Despite the list of accomplishments, Zoe is most proud of the essays that they love to write. Zoe is happy they could write as many as they did for class but is sad they weren't able to write the final Research Essay for Mr. Boland this year. Zoe will miss seeing their friends and talking to their favorite teaches and encourages the Class of 2021 to enjoy it while it lasts and take lots of pictures because it goes by quick. Congratulations, Zoe!

GRACE SPELL

Grace Spell is the daughter of Alan and Brenda Spell. Grace is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending the University of Missouri-Columbia in the fall to study Biomedical Engineering. During her time at HHS, Grace was involved in Key Club, Junior Classical League, Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, and served as a leader for Kewps United. She also played volleyball for all four years and was on the team that won Districts and State Sectionals. Looking back on her high school years, she is proud of her ability to keep her grades high while still having time for fun with family and friends, and spending time with those friends is what she will miss the most about high school. Grace wants the Class of 2021 to know that while school is important, so is their mental health, and she urges her peers to take time to care for themselves and embrace the fact that they are each uniquely special. Congratulations, Grace!

AJIA VIGIL

Ajia Vigil is the daughter of Sokphon Chan and Dylan Pacheco. Aija is graduating from Hickman High School and will be attending her dream school, St. Louis College of Pharmacy, in the fall to study Pharmacy PD on an athletic scholarship for Track & Field and Cross Country. After college, Aija plans to travel and help others with medicine and possible open her own pharmacy business. During her time at HHS, Aija ran Track and Cross Country, and she will miss all of her friends and great memories from the past four years. Looking back on her high school years, Aija is proud that she took risks and played hard to make grades, and encourages the Class of 2021 to work hard or go home. Congratulations, Aija!
